Tigers Roar to Victory, Set Sights on 2025 Dominance
The Prince Edward Tigers rugby team concluded their 2024 season on a high note, securing a thrilling victory against the Wise Owl School. Despite facing challenges throughout the season, the team demonstrated resilience and determination.
Coach De Souza commended the Tigers for their commendable performance, highlighting their ability to defend their home turf at Jubilee Field. While the team experienced setbacks in away matches, they managed to clinch two crucial victories, showcasing their competitive spirit.
The match against Wise Owl proved to be a pivotal moment for the Tigers. With tries from Tatenda Kamubvumbi and David Kunaka, and crucial contributions from Kudzi Vudzijena, the team secured a hard-fought 17-15 win. The
second half proved to be a turning point, with the introduction of impact player Academy Chauke injecting new energy into the team. Chauke's involvement was instrumental in creating the opportunity for Kunaka's try.
The Tigers boast a promising future with a talented pool of young players. Milton Mukurunyowa, Weston Rabvunda, Ethan Chitendeni, Earl Chitendeni, Academy Chauke and Nathaniel Gabi have showcased their potential and are expected to be key contributors to the team's success in the coming years.
As the 2024 season draws to a close, the Tigers are already looking ahead to the next chapter.
